I know this may horrify some people, but I have been inside this dwelling. Some Navy buddies and I wandered off of the trail and found our way over to this structure. Assuming it was abandoned, we went inside. To our surprise there were a few candles burning, illuminating one or two religious icons on the walls. We departed quickly and followed the canyon running northeast to the sea. As you'll notice it ends at the ancient boat launch. It's an interesting way to discover the old monastery rather than following the tourist trail. If you should happed to take the same route, be sure to look inside the caves along the canyon walls for the sheep hiding out there. If the occupant of the dwelling should read this, I apologize for the intrusion.
Hey frogman. So, you're assuming sheep don't burn candles! I think that's pretty cool actually. We looked in some caves after we got down to the bottom. Rock on. Fair winds.
