Hello Rich, your headstones are indeed very interesting - especially this one. I think it is made of marble. Although it is already over 100 years old, you can still read the writing. I found it very moving. Thanks for sharing. Greetings, Anne

Greetings Anne, Thanks for visiting the Silverplume cemetery and your kind comments. I believe you are correct with the stone being marble. With no industry up there, there is no acid rain to dissolve the stone so they look in very good condition. I don't know if the pine trees generate any acid as I recall that forest floors are somewhat acid. The cemetery is old and there are many stories there. Thanks again.
