Does anybody know what this is? It's within about 45 minutes from where I live in Lockwood. I can get up there on my trail bike. Is this a grave, or somebody's idea of a joke?

Yes, it is the grave of Chuck, a chucker hunting fool of a favorite dog. it should be pretty close to where I indicated it on the map. If you park your rig and walk around there, you'll see it on a promontory overlooking the road. I'll check the map but I'm pretty sure I located it correctly. it was a while ago. You have to get out and walk though.

I did not change the location on the map because I can't tell without looking at terrain. The satellite image is much better than it was when I placed the marker. I'll check with the guy who was driving and get back with you. It will be a rough ride on a bike to get back in there but I guess it could be done. We were in a jeep.

Driver says, "I would say that that is very close to accurate, the dirt road runs from Derby Dam to Sparks via "the wild", But it's definitely more than 45 minutes from LoveLock." Good luck Doug and report back.

Okay, I'll go visit Chuck's grave tomorrow, Friday 08/06/2010. I'll take a digital picture and post it here....if I can find the grave. I'll work my way in from the Los Altos area in Sparks.

The road from Los Altos is gated, but you can drive about 3 miles further north on Los Altos from the curve to a large parks area. From the back of that parks area is an open road the intersects the road going east to Chuck's grave spot.
