Piana Grande e Monte Vettore

La catena dei Sibillini discende per 40 chilometri lo spartiacque umbro-marchigiano fra il Tirreno e l’Adriatico e culmina nel monte Vettore (2.476 m). E un’area che presenta ambienti insoliti per l’Appennino: grandiosi altipiani sono chiusi da imponenti pareti rocciose, come il monte Bove e il Pizzo del Diavolo; non mancano zone carsiche con gole profonde e impressionanti, come il selvaggio canyon dell’Infernaccio nell’alta valle del Tenna.
