Yes Mira they are chimneys. I thought the semicircular shape was very interesting. I took this shot from the 18 screen cinema in the town centre. For a cinema it is a very tall building. I took this shot from the top of the same cinema. :)

The cinema... thanks, now I understand about taking this photo. The semicircular shape of the chimney/s indeed is very interesting. It's funny to think how many such nice and interesting details may be on roofs, hidden from our eyes. Thanks for finding this one!
