Museum building at Falu copper mine. This mine is a Unesco World Heritage site since 2001. The mine was in operation during 1000 years, and mining was stopped in 1992. It was earlier a copper mine, providing most of Europe´s need of copper. Later zinc and pyrite, and gold, was mined. The famous red paint, used for painting many Swedish old houses, was also produced here.
