Swavesey level crossing on Station road taken August 2007

GJTournels on April 16, 2013

This crossing no longer exists, in fact neither do the rails. This site now represents one of the stops on the former railway line between St Ives and Cambridge which is now a Guided Bus Route. There are a number of 'stations' along this route, and on some designated services the bus is able to leave the Guided Bus route and freely redirect on normal roads. Some routes can go to the extreme lengths, as far as Huntingdon in the north to Addenbrookes to the south. The service is well thought of and is considerably used. Tickets may be purchased from machines at the stations, and some fares may be paid direct to the driver. Photographs will be posted on this medium shortly.
