G'day Rob, yes; it is a beautiful place. Lord Howe Island is part of NSW and is as close to a pristine environment as can be found. The number of visitors to the island at any one time is strictly limited to that which the island can echologically accommodate without causing environmental trauma. I think that number is about 300. You need to book well ahead. There are not many cars on the island - you are best off either walking or riding a push-bike. Cheers, David
