Hello Els. Really great to see all this snow. Looks thick and deep too. I hear on TV New that London is having heaps of snow at the moment and it has effected aircraft as well. Today here at our place the last few days, its been around 22C, lovely cool seabreeze from the south about 10am. Sunny a a little wind. I evengot sunburnt this morning while in my garde. Been mulshing up everything in garden from our compost, which is around 3 meters long a meter wide and about meter deep. Its nearly empty. So I will be out getting a 1 ton square block of old rotten hay to go in there along with some cow and sheep manure. The garden worms will soon brake down. I also add some agriculture lime and all kitchen scraps and peelings go into it as well. All old plants that have finished flower, they are pulled up put in the compost too. When the Dahlia's finish in May of this year, while they were still green they were all pulled up and put in the compost. They had storks on them over an inche thick and they have all rotted away. Our Magpies which come on our lawn everymorning also like to get into the compost as there are heaps of garden worms in there. We have one Magpie which immertates all the other birds we have in our area. He is very very clever. When we lived on the farm, we had another magpie who did exactly the same thing, but he also said my name. Years ago, I would think that my Mother was calling me, but it wasn't her at all, but this magpie. They are such lovely birds. In the morning if we don't go out with there food when they arrive, they come right onto our patio and all start to sing at the door until we do come out. There is a real pecking order within our little group. They make these funny noises and it means keep away to anoth magpie and if the youngster from last year foolishly takes no notice an older will run over to them and grab hold of the foolish one and give them a good shaking or pecking. They learn rather quick after that!!! :-) KInd REgards, David
