crystallized formation on stainless steel
That's a great abstract shot, Kevin! I love the patterns. LIKE
Fascinating, very nice capture. I LIKE it. Have a wonderful 2011, Hal
This is amazing! Nature is a genious. Well seen!
Thanks for the visit and the comments, guys! This was one of neatest ice formations I've seen so far this winter ... couldn't pass it up.
Very beautiful picture, Kevin. I like the pastel tints of red and blue and the filigree structures. This is one of the most beautiful ice-flowers, I have ever seen, honest. May be because it's on steel and not on a window as usual.
Pretty incredible, Kevin!... Almost looks like a fossil or a stained glass window. Great job LIKE
Wolfgang, and Joel,
Thanks guys! This one is a bit deceiving. The top of the photo is actually closest to the lens (I flipped it for this upload), and this is about a 30 degree angle. You can see the DOF begin to soften at the bottom of the frame (farthest away from lens).
Kevin, what is "deceiving" about it? It is clear that it has not the same distance to the lens from bottom to top. But so what? In my opinion it's not only not worse, but even more interesting like that.
If I try to look unsharp, leaving my imagination free, I think of an Archaeopterix or another fossile conserved in a stone layer. Then the unsharp bottom comes in very well.
Okay, I'll stop here before my imagination rans riot ;-)
Have a nice time, Wolfgang
Wonderful winter essence!
Wish you Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!
