Sculptures may be constructed from any material that the artist decides upon. Antony Gormley chooses heavy cast metal, the collection of over 600 sculptures in Grisedale Forest are constructed from naturally occuring materials as well as metal, plastic and water, to name but a few!

Hi Mike you seem to know a bit about sculptures. :=) I hope your getting a good share of this scarce spring Sun? I assisted a Sculptor a long time ago. In Invercargill NZ they were setting a bronze statue of Peter Pan in the local park for the Queen to unveil on her royal visit. I worked in the engineers that cast the moulds sent from London. They had to be fettled and slotted together and I got the job, because I had the only set of wee files. Never got any time off for the opening ceremony. :=(( all the best cheers scally.

Mmmmm, I do have a little more than average knowledge on the subject, after studying many art forms following my retirement Scally, however the main source of my knowledge is gleaned from the web!!

That Wikipedia is 'Something Else' Mike.:=). I went to an exhibition of the 'Workings' of a local sculptor in our local museum, and I was astonished by the amount of work and planning that they do before chiselling the first chip! He had more drawings fully sized than a Ship builders draught room.LOL. but Thisone he moulded out of some sort of plastic. Have a nice day. cheers scally.
