Hi Mike you seem to know a bit about sculptures. :=) I hope your getting a good share of this scarce spring Sun? I assisted a Sculptor a long time ago. In Invercargill NZ they were setting a bronze statue of Peter Pan in the local park for the Queen to unveil on her royal visit. I worked in the engineers that cast the moulds sent from London. They had to be fettled and slotted together and I got the job, because I had the only set of wee files. Never got any time off for the opening ceremony. :=(( all the best cheers scally.

Mmmmm, I do have a little more than average knowledge on the subject, after studying many art forms following my retirement Scally, however the main source of my knowledge is gleaned from the web!!

That Wikipedia is 'Something Else' Mike.:=). I went to an exhibition of the 'Workings' of a local sculptor in our local museum, and I was astonished by the amount of work and planning that they do before chiselling the first chip! He had more drawings fully sized than a Ship builders draught room.LOL. but Thisone he moulded out of some sort of plastic. Have a nice day. cheers scally.

Maybe the study of genetics will some day show us there's a sense of humor gene, passing endlessly through the generations, taste and style changing only slowly. I recently found 1/4 of my grandparents originated in Lanarkshire about 1200. We always seemed to get crossways with some element or other of The Crown. Maybe it was the humor.... Those of mixing and baking the worst puns are now Aussies. Maybe not, eh?

You are going back a long time Chris? It was only after Bannockburn 1314, that Scotland established itself as an Nation. As to the poor Aussies, They are in desperate need of a sense of humour. Having ruled world cricket for decades they are being clobbered by England. and their Rugby team were well beaten by the British & Irish Lions. But I suppose their famous delaration of love still holds true " Loves ye? course I loves ye, f you don,t I". lol cheers scally.

A bit of a cheek swab in the 21st century may reveal more than some of us want to know.

Harry Taggart on August 6, 2013
