UWS Rotary Observatory Domes

The domes of the UWS Rotary Observatory are on the grounds of University of Western Sydney, Campbelltown Campus. One dome is 4.5 metre diameter and houses a 400 mm dia Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The other is 2.9 metre diameter. A brick time capsule is in the foreground, placed there in July 2000 at the opening of the observatory. Local light pollution is threatening the usefulness of the Observatory.
In 2013 the domes were relocated a short distance to make way for the new residential suburb of Macarthur Heights behind the University.
