Scafell Pike rises far left, with Scafell to the right of Mickledore, the notch in the ridge. The rocky slopes of Lingmell are below and in front of Scafell Crag, with the zigzag slash of Piers Gill visible on it's left flank. Illgill Head and Whin Rigg loom up to the left of Wast Water which is seen down it's full length. The shot was taken from near the Westmorland Cairn, West from the summit of Great Gable on a perfect summer day.

This is the view I've always wanted to see! Climbed as far as Beck Head in August 1982 - too misty the next day to reach the summit & now too disabled to even walk to the Inn.. One day I'll have my own framed photo to join my Wasdale gallery, if I can persuade a friend to remember to print it off! THank you, for letting me see this :)
