The landscape was kinda weird. Apparently, all the downed trees are the result of a huge forest fire that swept through Yellowstone about 10 years ago now. The bit of greenery is nature trying to repair itself. There must have been millions of trees that came down because they were like that practically all the way back to West Yellowstone.
