I am glad you enjoy such combinations, which I have noted in your gallery and commented on before. I appreciate your special ways of seeing and your subjects. I find it freeing to upload some images like this that are not pretty scenes or fantastic phenomena - and such still require good composition or even an artistic eye. So I am glad yo appreciate my image that 'records' a piece of our landscape.

This is the initial reason for being part of the Panoramio community - contributing to GE, for I sure have appreciated the opportunity to view and area before visiting, or more especially explore and area that is of historical interest to me. How times have changed - in an instant now I can view the church my ancestors were married in, in 1666, for example. Even only 10 years ago that was impossible.

Dear Ian,

You are so right in portraying this great function of Panoramio - it was exactly my reason to join to begin with: recording my landscape wether it be urban, industrial or 'natural'. In the Netherlands there is not one piece of land left untouched by human hand, so natural is just an artistic notion.

I am not anymore in the circumstances to travel much, but I don't realy regret it, since we have Panoramio. ;)
