World Map Japan Miyagi Prefecture Kesennuma
大川/宮城県気仙沼市 Okawa River is the biggest river in Kesennuma City. We could usually watch Ospreys, one of the species of birds of prey, at the estuary of the river. Although this area is 2km from the sea, the tsunami hit this area. The bridge seen in upper part of this photo is a railway bridge, however the railway does not stand the prospect of recovery from the dameges by the earthquake and the tsunami.
