Captain of The Titanic

Statue of Commander Edward Smith (1850-1912), located in Beacon Park, Lichfield, Staffordshire, England.
Smith was the commanding officer of the RMS Titanic and perished when the great passenger ship sank in 1912 after colliding with an iceberg, as did around 1,500 others.
Smith was born in Hanley, Staffordshire. His last words were reportly: "Be British".
