I am pleased that you like it. You cannot tell from the Google map, but this is a very wide river estuary, with a very shallow sea. The deep part here is where the river Dwyryd and river Glaslyn both flow together, and have carved out a deep channel for themselves.

Thanks very much for visiting, the nice words, and the 'like.' They are much appreciated. Sorry for late response, I've been away all week for work. I think this sunset was just one of those strange flukes of nature which gave a bright orange sky. The sand dunes are part of this very wide river estuary, and show up well on the GE image.

You are obviously well travelled, with far more important places to visit, so I suppose we can excuse not having seen Borth-y-Gest! It doesn't look like this every day though, only in winter!
