Marianne in Norway:

I do hope you like this little miniature Bougainvillea that we had growing on our patio.

After many years it decided to go into retirement so we no longer have it!!

But I would love to find another Golden Doubloon.

Can you see the original bright cherry red branch which is a shoot from the original stock that was used to graft & bear the Golden flowered variety?

Theolfa on January 10, 2011

Hi, Hazel! It's snowing again, and it's white wherever I look, so I'm green with envy at the sight of this beautiful Bougainvillea, one of my favourites for hanging baskets. They won't survive our winters. I think the red branch is upper right? So go to your garden centre, Hazel, & buy another one for me, please, and when you have it blooming, take another beautiful shot of MY bougainvillea. Cheers! Theolfa

This is beautiful, Hazel. Thank you so much! Like Theolfa I can only enjoy the Bougainvillea either abroad or at photos like this. Where I live, only Dandelions grow:-/

Dandelions in a coat of frost look lovely in the morning sun

Their sunny faces remind us of summer

the times we all can have warm fun! ######################################

Bougainvillea , cheery red

On walls and ground doth grow

Making all who see her there

smile and warmly glow ###################################

NICE ONE Hazel!!

Mike, you can melt a frozen polar heart:)

Hazel Coetzee on January 12, 2011

Mike - thank you for the lovely poetic comments.

You have given the little Bougainvillea an extra golden glow, now - and it is so appreciated!!

Have a lovely day!!

Hugs, Hazel

Marianne - Mike is right - a frosted Dandelion is too beautiful - someone posted a photo of one last year and I just LOVED it.

And you can make lots of Dandelion Wine - not so?? ((o; That would definitely thaw a frozen polar heart or two!

Have a great day, little friend!!

Warm greetings, Hazel

Theolfa - Glad you like this little creeper = and "Yes Ma'am!" (salutes) I will try to find another one like this, although it may be difficult as varieties come and go!

If I do succeed, it will be christened Theolfa's Beauty.

Warm hugs,

Teunis - baie dankie vir die mooi woorde en die LIKE.

Ek waardeer dit.

Hoop die Nuwejaar het mooi begin vir jou, my vriend?

Groete van Hazel

....Dandelion Wine....Hazel, you just gave me an idea!

Once I made wine from rhubarb, that was a lot of work! It was in 1998, I think I still have a few bottles left.

Theolfa on January 13, 2011

Save a glass for me! Cheers! Theolfa

Marianne on January 13, 2011

I tell you what Theolfa, if you leave your address for me in Panoramio "private message" (front page) I WILL GIVE YOU A BOTTLE! As a gift!

I am being serious...

Theolfa on January 13, 2011

That's very generous of you, Marianne, but I would worry that the bottle would break before it got halfway around the world. PS someone is disputing the mapping of this picture ;D

Marianne on January 14, 2011

I think Theolfa you might be right. I will save the last bottle for you to come visiting some day:)

Hazel Coetzee on January 14, 2011

Save that bottle of Rhubarb Wine and have a toast to all your Good Panoramio Friends, Marianne - that will be so grand!! And let us know how it goes with the Dandelion Wine - it should be fun to make!!

Theolfa - I was told that the mapping was being disputed by you, and I have sorted it out!! The position was moved 2 inches to the left on my patio!! (((o;

  • Hope you both have a wonderful weekend and for goodness' sake, STAY WARM please!!! (Wine or no wine)

Big hugs,
