I bet you thought this was nuts!
The last time I drove into a hail storm I needed about $1000 in hood and roof repair.
Michael, Yes, I thought I would drive through this litte storm in a minute or so and pop out the other side. It went on for miles and miles, the hail got to marble size and over 3" deep, and even slowing down to 15 MPH in 4WD with off-road tires it was a struggle to maintain contact with the road. I could barely see out my windshield and it sounded like my SUV was getting a dump truck load of gravel dumped on it... continuously for 20 minutes! I had to grab my camera to record this "instant waterfall" coming off the uphill bank of the road. In some places it went on like this for hundreds of yards, several inches deep, running off of large expanses of open granite. Crazy!
Cool...what was the date of the storm?
