Being local to that area, I know Rivington will never look closer than Haigh Hall if I am stood in Wigan. I don't want to detract from what is an excelent photograph but the impression of scale and distances involved gives it for me a somehow trick photography edge to it. Glad of your response if pos. Absolutely no tricks involved. Just lucky to have clear conditions that evening. I'd be willing to e-mail you all the originals from the set if you don't believe me. Nothing very special about my equipment either. Nikon D200 and Nikon 80-400mm VR Zoom lens. Just for the record the distance from where I was to Winter Hill is about 8 miles.
