Hells Gate area was named for the Columbia River rapids that are now 300' underwater. This island and calm anchorage located on the Colville Indian Reservation in Ferry County marks the spot downstream of those once infamous rapids.

Awesome picture. Looks like you get around alot on your sailboat. We spend summers aboard our Catalina 34 in the NW.

Thank you for the comment and visit Capran. Yes we enjoy our vessel very much. We too are in the PNW. Plan on another cruise to Desolation Sound this coming September. Hope you have a good season...
