Being without communications after Katrina, having lost my house, and upon hearing of the devastation along the coast, one of my first questions was, "Did the lighthouse make it?" I was not alone in that sympathy, the lighthouse is an enduring symbol of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Biloxi, my home.
