I have spent many happy times at Middleham Anita, and this is one of my all time favourite castles..It oozes history and ambience..It takes only a little imagination to appreciate how it must have been, all those centuries ago..
If only English Heritage could find an alternative site for the ticket office ;.)

Yes Jim, the ticket office does stand out like a sore thumb, it can't have crossed their minds that we photographers would scale the heights of the tower ;) I love this castle and the site of the old one which is just above on the hillside. Cheers Jim. Anita
