Oscar, the Street Musician
Selected for Google Earth [?] - ID: 46829638
Oscar, This bronze sculpture by Ruth Abernethy was unvailed in 2010 by the QE II. It actually plays Oscar Peterson music 24 hours/ day. So I provide a link to his music too.
Oscar P. died in 2007 and was the best piano man in the jazz world. (My opinion). He has natural feel for the music, but unlike many other GREATS, he was classically trained.
I was fortunate to see and hear him in concert.

Rosi, I am glad you like Oscar. That is one musician that deserves a sculpture.
I wonder if Britney Spears gets one..........;-)

He could be waiting a long time - hasn't quite realised he's not going to get an audience sitting out there.
Great unique shot. Ottawa sounds like Canberra the way you describe it.
Cheers, Paul

Paul, if you have 5 hours spare, you can visit Ottawa and see the whole downtown by walking.
Galleries??... another few hours, if you like some indoor activity. (last week they had -35 c)
Oscar has now about 5,000,000 Panoramio audience. In winter, you are right, but summer there are bus loads of tourists.
Thanks Donna!
