Rideau Bakery, nothing changed since 1930
Selected for Google Earth [?] - ID: 46829796
Rideau Bakery, This store is around since 1932, in more or less Mom and Pop style. Originally on Nelson street, it moved to Main street. This is now the poor part of Ottawa. Not much changed inside either!
I was a bit disappointed. I had a hard time to choose. Not much assortment and everything too big. Originaly, I wanted to have lunch there. They have a lunch counter, but only had simple sandwiches. They had a soup, but not my favorite (Tomato & Rice). So I just had Apple Turnover, which was OK!
Must have been a jewish neighbourhood at one time. They still cook kosher food, so old customers are still regulars.
