CHATEAUVIEUX . . . . . . (FRANCE, RHONE-ALPES, HAUTE-SAVOIE, DUINGT) . . . . . . The Château Ruphy or "Châteauvieux” is located in the picturesque village of Duingt, on the west bank of Lake Annecy. The beautiful castle graces a small peninsula in the lake in front of the village, and in 1896 bacame the subject of a famous painting by Paul Cézanne. The village of Duingt is considered today as one of the most beautiful villages of France, according to the book "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France". With it Medieval streets and houses, the village has retained much of the charm of its past.
