Lovely shot! In my experience,it's only a small percentage of boat owners that use them with at all frequently, even when the weather's good.

Hello again, Bryan. Many thanks. Yes, I find that's generally true too. But some of these boats are lived in all year; indeed, the owners have nowhere else! If they go anywhere, it's usually by a small rowing boat, but I've seen some very expensive high-powered launches too.

We have a house that looks out at a protected bay where a lot of people moor boats. Some are lived on, but lived on or not, they seem to rarely move. For years, Neil Young (the singer) moored a large, old schooner here and I never saw it actually move, though it did occasionally disappear for a while.
