Vkeith, nice picture. I'm going to London next week; I know that Stonehenge has something of magical, but... is it worthwhile to travel to this place just to see these stones? Are there other interesting things to see, near here?

Greetings, Josep Maria

This monument was difficult to photograph without people in it. It is very popular. You can no longer walk amoung the stones, rather you circle around them on a path. Nearby is a village called Avebury, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Silbury Hill which I believe is the largest prehistoric artificial mound in Europe. The Keiller Museum in Avebury attempts to explain much of this area where there are many prehistoric mounds. There is a stone dovecote, a thatched roof barn, a stately home with beautiful formal gardens. Very interesting intellectually but not photographically dramatic especially if the sky is gray. Interesting villages around there are Lacock and Shaftsbury. Salisbury Cathedral (may still be covered with scaffolding) and surrounds are enjoyable especially on market day. To really enjoy the area in a short time, you'll need to drive there and then get out and walk. Keep in mind the days are getting very short there too. From London, it will be a long day if you don't plan to stay out there overnight. This time of year for nature, you might try Winkworth Arboretum in Godalming, Surrey. Dr. Wilfrid Fox kept his mistress here and planted over a thousand different trees from all over the world. The autmn color should be fantastic. Clandon Park has a magnificent mansion. I look at your photos and see you make the most of everyplace you go! If you have time, the small roads through villages hold many surprises. I hope this helps! Have a great trip!
