Greetings J-ryu, Thank you for the visit and the comment. The weather in the park can be very temperamental. Sometimes it will be sunny and calm, others can be raging blizzards. But it seems the wind blows most of the time and the snow blowing over the continental divide to the west softens the view. The hike to Emerald Lake is very straight forward and not dangerous. Once you cross Emerald Lake and start climbing up into the cirque, the risk factor goes way up. That is the most fun. Thanks again. Cheers, Rich
