I used automatic exposure bracketing to get one decent exposure, but a couple of years later it turned out to be fortunate that I saved the shots so I could run them through Photomatix. They were only 2/3 stop apart, so I couldn't get much dynamic range benefit or get the shot to end up looking very realistic, but the processing does wonders for pulling out contrasty details such as the sun rays. I've used this picture in an entry on Bodie in my new photoblog.
