Hi solitum, I really loved Split. I didn't have any idea about how split was, so it was a great surprise to find such a beautiful city. The most I loved about it was the chaotic old town, It is amazing to walk in her narrow streets. It's very difficult to get oriented inside the old town and sometimes it looks like walk in a maze. I also loved that It is not as crowded as Dubrovnik, much more peaceful and more agreable for people like me who lives in a small town. On the other hand, I didn't love the beach, which is quite crowded and instead of sand it has something like mud ¿? and stones of course hahaha. Find accomodation was quite difficult too, specially for backpackers. We met two french girls who had to went away to other town because the camping was too far, the hostels full booked and the sobe rooms were too expensive :-(. And finally we didn't find a lot of nightlife, as you can see in the picture no many people was walking in the street even the weather was really good.

But if I go back to croacia, no doubt I will return to Split again. It really deserves to be visited.

I am glad to here you liked Split, the old town is really something, i my selves even get lost there from time to time (-:

It is bit hard to get used to the stone beaches, after living here in Croatia for 4 years, i have gotten used to it.

I know that affordable accommodation can be a problem here in the summer, especially if you don’t booking well ahead.

Regarding nightlife I think you must have look at the wrong places)-; , there is diffidently some nice place to go out here in the summer. – so next time just write me and I will tell you about places to go.

Anyway, now I am working on getting some of your fellow country men down here to Split in January for the world championship in Handball, so if you know somebody how could be interested in going to an event like that they can find information on Spanish here - Campeonato mundial de balonmano 2009
