Dear Maja,
The landscape in the "rain-shadow" areas of Otago is quite mesmerising, with its changing colours, majestic backdrops and large scale agriculture and large sheep runs in the foothills.
Glad you approve of the lone tree, helping the composition.

Thank you emzet. The film makers love to come to NZ to use landscapes like this for their sets.

Dear Ula,
Thank you for your visit to my gallery and for your appreciative comments. New Zealand offers a great variety of beautiful landscapes. This area is sheep country especially on the hills, with large scale dairying on the irrigated river flats.
The film industry has also discovered the raw beauty of this landscape.
Warm regards,
Ian

This is really a wonderful composition. The dark spots and stripes offer a well-balanced picture, it's like a painting.
I really like that one and press YS!

I am honoured and delighted Polytropos! Thank you. The landscape in the rain shadow country is quite different for NZ, and it has been popular with film makers.
I am glad you share my enthusiasm for this landscape.
Appreciatively,
Ian
