What a cool shot! Good title too.

Thanks Guy! lol, poor little thing, I was taking photos of all the boys fighting over her ( to her left) and didn't even notice her diving and coming back up until I saw the photos!

Yikes. I hope she really was on the way up, and that you're not just ameliorating the story for us. :/

She was, honest! One of those split second things we'd never see if it weren't for cameras! The next frame she's happily swimming along. But lolol, the pic sure does look like 'Duck Aspic', doesn't it? Thanks who!

Very cool capture! Great timing! Cheers, pear

Thanks pear! LOL, sure wish I could say I carefully tried for this one, but in fact I never even noticed! I think male eiders in breeding plumage are so beautiful, and soooo funny, so that's all I was looking at.

Nawitka on February 21, 2011

:D You're right, normally we'd never "see" this moment! very cool!

Here I thought.. poor Bitsy can't spell..

And holy moly what's that in the water? Nessie?

Then I asked the keeper of all knowledge great and small.. "Google" and it says it's a duck!

Excuse me, I'm feather brained but bird challenged.. It's a really neat shot! :<))

I have to agree with you there GG but we cant all be perfect..Shame! Never mind hun..:))

As for the unkind reference to Nessie, Please GG!! Never put an Eider down!

Oh dear, Jim, after reading that one I can't help but believe we are doomed as a species.

Thanks Nawitka! It really is surprising the things we snap that we don't even know are there because they happen so fast.

Thanks Liam! You'd love watching eiders play. They really are funny ducks.

LOLOL GG, Thanks! See how much you can learn about here on Panoramio? I guess I should post a shot of her suitors. They're such elegant clowns.

Groan!!!! Jim! But lol, glad you got it. And over here we'd be thrilled to have a Nessie. Hmmmmm, maybe I should claim that's what this is!

And lol Guy - when you make comments like that we all know you're just kicking yourself for not making the comment first!
