The Nieuwe Rijn ('New Rhine') is one of the two arms of the Rhine river crossing the center of Leiden. A notable structure on it is the Koornbrug, a bridge build in 1642 AD with a Neoclassic cap added in 1825 AD. This location used to be the trading place for corn, hence the name
The tower at left in the background belongs to the town hall
