Texans, needing everything Texan to be bigger, and knowing the height of the Washington Monument, made this symbol of Texas' war of independence taller. It's located on the San Jacinto Battle Field where, in the final battle, Sam Houston defeated Santa Anna, resulting in the creation of the Republic of Texas in 1836.
