The pretty spray thing doesn't happen any more. The new sheds are to house generators, all the water released from the dam (which flows down the Towy to Natngaredig, where it's pumped out, treated and feeds the Swansea area) now generates electricity. Which is a good thing, but not so impressive as the old setup.
Thanks very much anshackles for the info. As you said not so impressive as the older system, I have'nt been in that area for a while so appreciate the update.
