Thanks for the correction JoePass. St. Hyacinth in Polish is Sw. Jacek. Therefore this whole region of Chicago surrounding the temple is called by local Poles "Jackowo", which means "St. Hyacinth Town". However no map of Chicago indicates that popular name, known by Poles worldwide.

I attended this grammar school from 1944 kindergarten, to 1951, seventh grade. If anyone else did, please email me at: lolslol at juno dot com. I remember a nun teaching third grade whose name was Sister Mary Basilica, but all the others, alas, escape me: senior moment. I sang in a small choir at masses and funerals. I remember onstage, in kindergarten, doing Paderewski's Minuet, complete with elaborate costumes! First grade had us dance the Mazurka, also in beautiful Polish costumes. Wonderful times.
