This is a very interesting shot in light of the current controversial proposal to build a hydro generating facility nearby.

The bridge itself has a lot of rustic character. The large stones used to build the supports, the vegetation growing in the supports, the old wooden braces used in the guardrail and the jagged rocks within the flow give the bridge its photogenic qualities. From this angle we see the potential head pressure to this site (the difference between the level of Lake Muskoka and the base of the bridge). The foaming action of the falling water is captured with great clarity. The lighting on the bridge and the colours from the sky and trees in the background are all captured with remarkable talent. Excellent shot! Thanks for sharing.

For safety reasons this bridge will need to be refurbished in the not-to-distant future. This begs the question. Do you think it is better to rebuild this bridge and integrate VLH hydro generation technology at this site to convert the head pressure into a source of renewable energy instead of building the nearby hydro facility?

Time is running out. We want an alternative energy solution that doesn't destroy the existing character of Bala Falls or else nothing at all. Want to help? Check out: Bala Falls
