and Thanks Ian for your commentary.
Kind regads from Switzerland
This refurbished building in Dunedin is now an art gallery, but I have to admit I was even more impressed by the marvellous restoration work on a beautiful interior than I was by the artworks.
Nice old stairs Ian. Luckely it's still in use. Greetings Berend
I've always loved spiral staircases, Ian, and this is a beauty. Well shown! Cheers. Theolfa
I agree with you, Berend. Seeing buildings restored/rejuvenated and in continuous use is very special.
We have a 270 degree staircase in our home but this 540 degree one is really something special. One wasn't permitted to use a camera in the gallery, so I had to negotiate permission to photograph this.
The old ones are the good ones and this is a beauty Ian ~ it is very pleasing to the eye indeed ~ A Golden Star and like for this twist in the tail :)
Warm greetings Nick,
In retrospect I thought the gallery was well worth the visit just to enjoy its restorative work. I can't remember the artwork that was on display but the building I recall well!
Hooo yes this is very good ART >>Like
As good as anything else hanging in the gallery - and that is not meant to put down the hung artwork! I was impressed by the design. I'm pleased that it appeals to you too.
Friendly greetings to you both,
Awesome creativity and skill! Congratulations!
Indeed, Shalom57. I was impressed. Best thing in the Dunedin Art Gallery, though it was part of the restoration of the building rather than an installation!
I bet you knew I'd notice this one eventually, Ian! It's delightful - well observed and photographed. Marilyn
I won't take the bet, **Marilyn - I'll just pay up! You are very often with me when my camera is in hand!
I am pleased that you have seen it and have enjoyed it.
