It should be noted that this is the new Chelyan Bridge.The old Bridge was about a mile up river.I lived in Quincy most all my childhood (1960 to 1973)and some of my adult life.I live in Florida now,have since 1986.I was back to Quincy in 1998. Looks like alot of things have changed since then.

Actually the old bridge was only about 1500 feet up the river from the new bridge; that is, from the bridge itself to the site of the old one on the Chelyan side of the river.

I did say about a mile, but then I didn't get out a tape Measure! Actually it’s about a quarter of a mile difference! My old house once sat where the new bridge is on the Dickinson/Quincy side.
