Who was th knight of the sculpture?

RRady (Radek R.) on February 13, 2009

It's Bohdan Khmelnytsky. The first independent ruler of Ukraine.

~★Alex_G★~ on February 18, 2009

Not the first!!! One of many! First hetman (ruler) was Dmytro Vyshnevetskiy! Greetings from Ukraine!

RRady (Radek R.) on February 18, 2009

★ℓ€χ_G, you're wrong. Dmytro Ivanovych Vyshnevetsky was only a Hetman of the Ukrainian Cossacks in Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which means that he was a liege lord of Lithuanian Grand Duke and Polish King Sigismund Augustus. He was Gediminid, in other words he was a knyaz (prince) from the same aristocratic family as his king Sigismund. Dmytro 'Bayda' was obviously the founder of Zaporizhian Sich but he wasn't independent ruler.

Best regards to You from Poland.
