Csaba, Here I am again to let you know I used it in the Photography Forum where I have posted topic called Thursday Photo Tip #6. I hope that is ok with you.
It really is lovely, Csaba - thanks for sharing! Thanks, too, to Larry for drawing my attention to it. And yes, I believe I can see examples of all your tips for good composition!
Thanks again to both,
Greetings from England,
Sarah (in learning & appreciating mode!)
Thank you May! Nice to hear that you are an architect and I am glad that you analize this picture from an architects point of view. This building was built between 1907- 1909 and at that time you could find inside of it a casino, a hotel, more officeses, restaurants. You can enter in the building from three different streets. In my opinion in the world, the big construction bum, was before the first world war, maybe because the peace in the world, the new technology and a fredom to travel was a big help. The majority of the worlds cities have been architecturaly and structuraly developed before the first world war, this happend in this city too.Thank you for the visit in my galery.Greetings,Csaba.
Thank you Sarah!I am really glad that you have seen my picture, that you have like it, and of course that you think, you can learn from it something. Greetings from Romania !
No problem Larry. I have taken a look to the Forum and it doesn`t bother me that you want to give some advices for the others. I agree with what you have written there. I would add only the fact that it is very helpful if you know the place or the nature, the lights and of course to know how to use your camera.
P.S. Of course in case if you know these or you don`t, you have to have great luck to make unique shots. Cheers, Csaba
Csaba, I agree with you about the spreading of new designs and constructions. Like you I think, it's a question of new technologies and modern industrialisation, and additionally I guess a kind of competitional spirit among big cities, that new ways had been opened, especially what steel and glass constructions concerns.
In the 19th century they learned to combine steel and glass for buildings and we find them since the middle of the 19th century. (1851 Crystal palace London world exhibition). Then gradually real buildings have been constructed in steel and glass, especially in Paris to my knowledge, like "Les Halles Centrales" the library, church and others. Departement stores opened in glass and steel constructions in Printemps in Paris, the Gum in Moskau, etc., there are many others. And then of course, the world exhibition in Paris in 1989 gave new modern impulses to art, engineering and architecture.
Galleries in Milan, Paris etc. and like your wonderful gallery you showed us from Bukarest have been built. I wonder if there are more examples of this epoque in Bukarest. I'd love to get to know your beautiful capital a little more and I am grateful for every photo you upload. Actually people don't know much about your region. I know you have lots to offer, not only in archtecture, but also in history, art and literature. I think it's greatly worthwile to get to know some of it and of the lifestyle of Romania of the last centuries as well as of today.
