The statue is a victory allegory. It's called the "Subé" Foutain, by the name of a man who gave his fortune to the town. There is 4 little sculpture at the bottom of the structure which represent the four river near Reims: marne, vesle, aisne, suippe.

The statue on top was originally bronze; it was taken down by the Germans in WWII to make weapons. A modern copy, lighter, was put back into place in the 1990s.
