St. Finbarr’s Oratory is located in a picturesque part of Ireland — on an island in a glacial lake, where the River Lee rises. It is associated with the Patron Saint of Cork. It is certainly popular place for the celebration of marriages. The artistic qualities of the landscape such as mood, colour, variety and majesty make it a romantic setting for such celebrations. For us, it was no less significant place to affirm our love for each other after 36 years of marriage than it would have been had we been there for our wedding.

Nicely framed and taken, Ian. I wonder (if you took it in RAW) whether this is one that would be even better using HDR techniques?

I really don't know enough to answer either question. I don't think it is in RAW though, for I have never thought that I would have need to use RAW. However I did lassoo the door and desaturate the rest of the image (including my wife). We both like the visual result. But I need much more education in photoshop and as for HDR that is still an unknown world to me. But I am willing to learn. Thanks for your reviews and gentle expert coaching, highton-ridley. Ian
