A standoff.. I hope it ended well...
Eventually the sheep turned back and we had to hold the black beast. No blood.

I can see the story now. I am glad there was a happy ending. My little dog, rest his soul, would have been the same and I would have had to have had the leash on him or he would have been gone in a flash.
One time we took a car up to the top of a mountain for some sight seeing. On the way down, my little Punkin started jumping up and down in my lap in the front passenger seat and squealing like he was so excited and wanted to stop and take a stroll. The road was one lane at this point and we couldn't stop so we went on looking for a wide place in the road. All of a sudden from up the mountain and down through the woods came a running at top speed was a young black bear. It ran right across the road in front of us. My little dog Punkin was flying out the window and I only caught his back foot and hauled him back in, stopping him in mid-air. He jumped up and down so hard that he left my legs with black and blue! The folks around here used to tease me saying he was a bear dog and I thought they were joking since I don't know anything about hunting bear, but maybe they weren't joking after all.
Hugs to your little dog!
Oh, almost forgot... I wanted to say thank you for your vote in the contest for my photo of the three raccoons!
I still think of this photo...
You can cut the air with a knife...
This is such a memorable photo for me... I'm giving it a Best Of click.
Thanks, Jean, I'm glad you like it. You should've been there. It was a magic moment. I even had time to prepare the camera...
