The Rödgavel cave at the bottom of "mount" Omberg, at lake Vättern. The cave is 21 meter deep and up to 12 meter high, and can only be reached by boat or skates.

Legends exist about the fairy queen Omma, and her lover, a giant who crossed the lake on the ice, riding on a horse. The horse foot hit the mountain and made the cave, and the giant drowned. And fairy queen Omma cries forever, her tears forming the ice at the cave. Inside the cave the water dropped from above and there was no ice at the bottom.

We had the opportunity to visit this cave on skates, one of the few years lake Vättern has ice, and ice of good quality. An experience.
