A BAY VIEW MOON!

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

I have rarely seen such a beautiful moon which presented me a wonderful opportunity to capture a little moonlight magic over Robin Hoods Bay.

This is one of my most favourite photos and I was well pleased with the result.

The deep blue tones were achieved by experimenting with the white balance..Most cameras have several options..The Pentax camera has an impressive range of settings to compensate/enhance differing light conditions!

My dear Jim, your blue wonders kill me softly, can't believe them, sooo incredible quiet and peaceful. Have to give them at least one warm golden star dear friend. Have a good weekend ~ warmest greetings ~ Maja

Pozlp风格~~~~Your numerous visits and generous praise is much appreciated Pozlp..thank you kindly!

BritPlom~~~Much appreciated, I'm glad you like the deep blues! The blue tones are enhanced in the Pentax cameras' software when choosing the Tungsten White Balance option. It helps to reduce the undesirable elements of sodium street lighting!

beegood~~~Good day Maja :) It is a pleasure and delight to receive your lovely comments. Those carefully chosen words reminded me of an all time favourite melody..The artiste is a true star Maja and I dedicate that song to you! Warm and sincere wishes coming your way :)

My dear Jim, I had that song in mind, but didn't know if you know it ~ thank you!!! Don't you think it fits your more than beautiful image perfectly? Your blues are perfect JIM, don't know how you achieve them, but admire them endlessly.

Have a good evening my dear friend, and enjoy the Sunday ~ big hug to north Yorkshire ~ Maja

Good shot Jim, I still can't decide which I like best, this or the daylight version, both are very nice. Unfortunately it was a grey day when we visited Robin Hood's Bay.

Kind regards, John

Um belo disparo e uma linda composição, parabéns! Like 27 Saudações do Brasil.

well put "the fishermen have been their own worst enemy" as for hdr? it works very well in a lot of you night shoots and this is prime example. nice shot!

Dee Wainwright on March 28, 2011

beegood~~~~Greetings dear Maja :) the normal settings automatically set by the camera would not give this gorgeous blue light. I overcome this by selecting tungsten white balance in the cameras shooting menu! This helps to reduce the yellow hues normally associated with tungsten and sodium lighting! I'm delighted the blue tones are to your liking!

YOLANDA~~~Warm greetings and many thanks for your appreciation :)

john adamson~~~Personal choice is a very subjective notion and like yourself John, I think both photos have their merits! I was rather taken with the scene as it was bathed in blue moonlight..The deep colours was the result of my choice of camera settings as described above! Thanks for your kind evaluation my friend!

a.ferrer~~~Greetings Antoni :) I took a shot with the camera set to auto white balance and it looks very different to this..there is a yellow tint to the sky..I preferred the blue one like this!

Adail Pedroso Rosa~~~~You are most welcome Adail :) The translator works fine and I appreciate your comment..Many thanks for your praise!

brianmoc~~~~Well actually Brian, this may look like HDR but in fact it is a normal image, slightly modified in the cameras shooting mode settings..A long 30 second exposure captures light not normally seen by the human eye!

Denise Gregory~~~Hi Denise :) I like your new avatar photo too, we get to see another side to that pretty face of yours! :)) I'm happy that you like these rather special photos of Robin Hoods Bay..They are amongst my favourites! It may be some time before I upload more photos..

愛 Sylvietsak 女~~~It is always a pleasure to receive your mail dear Sylvie :) I'm glad you called to share the views!

To you all, I express my sincere thanks for your visits, precious comments, your endorsements and votes!
