Wow, very ominous. I'm not used to mountains that colour - had there recently been a forest fire, or are there just that few trees?
Yellow star already.

Yes, that is pretty natural looking. I like it. I look forward to trying it. Thanks for forum discussion.

I really like this photo. The HDR is subtle, but makes for a very good effect, as you can see the color on the horizon, the dark of the clouds, and the yellow in the foreground. Great job!

Now that you mention it, it is weird for mountains to have that hazy blue color but also have detail as if there were no haze... I'll have to look at the originals and see what was there, maybe decrease the blue a bit.
The Eastern slope of the Sierras is high desert. This is at about 8000 feet in elevation. There are many slopes with bushes but no trees, and a large portion of hte aspen in the foreground have already lost all their leaves.

Your new Yosemite and Bodie shots are awesome Jeff, I really like the HDR effect on the old Bodie car. Happy trails.

Franckly, I don't like strong HDR that much. But this one is an exception.
JeffSullivan (www.JeffSullivan.biz), on August 2, said:
Thanks everyone for your kind words on this photo.
Fortunately I bracketed exposure for this shot, because although none of the single exposures turned out well (the range of light was just too great for the 8-9 stop range that a digital camera can handle), HDR enabled me to salvage this result. I've recently added Adobe Lightroom to my software, so I should be able to re-edit this to get a more realistic result.
