He reminds me of a submarine getting ready to go below, with his bill dipped under the water. He appears to be looking right at you, trying to decide whether to dive down to find food, or to swim over toward you and ask for bread. Or it could be he's trying to escape after all :-) It's a more interesting photo this way too, showing the ripples behind instead of what is in front.
